First, you should remember that everybody has a unique skin type. Thus,
your skin is different from your sister’s, much more from your friend’s.
Not all treatments provide the same effect on all skin types, so expect
that your friend’s anti-pimple cream may be effective on your skin. What
you can do is to try different skincare methods and see which one
provides positive results on your skin.
Second, have a lifestyle check. Here are the things that you should
reflect on:
- What foods do you eat?
- Do you always get enough sleep?
- Are you always stressed at work?
- Do you wash your face regularly?
- Do you wear makeup regularly?
Pimples can be caused by oily and salty foods. If you are a fan of
greasy foods such as pan-fried burgers, deep-fried chicken and potato
chips, then you are at risk to pimples. When you consume the oils found
in these foods, they add up to the cholesterol in your body, while
others are released through the pores of your skin. You will
occasionally encounter a bump on your face, so the best thing you can do
is reduce or avoid these foods for a while. Reducing your intake of oily
foods and having them replaced by healthier, more organic meals is
recommended to help provide your skin with a fresher, cleaner,
pimple-free look.
Oils are generated by the sebaceous glands to keep your skin hydrated
all the time. However these glands tend to excrete more especially when
you stay up late. If you lack enough sleep, your sebaceous glands are
forced to work extra hours and hence generate more oils, which when you
do not clean off your face, block the pores and start forming pimples.
You will just scream one morning when you see a bump on your face.
Stress is another factor in the formation of pimples. You may practice
sleeping more in order to lessen your stress and allow your pores to
relax and slow down from releasing the oils. Sleeping for 6-8 hours a
day is enough to provide your body a good rest, and adopting a jollier,
happier disposition can help lessen the stress you feel either in school
or in your job. Your pimples will slowly fade away in a matter of time
as there will be lesser oils to be excreted.
Meanwhile you should practice washing your face regularly to get rid of
the dirt, dead skin and oils that have accumulated on your face for the
whole day. Nothing beats the power of facial hygiene, for it gets rid of
the main ingredients that form pimples.
People who wear makeup also have to wash their faces regularly. There
are makeup ingredients which irritate the skin, causing pimples to take
place. Better check the makeup that you use, and if your face easily
gets irritated, it’s time to shop for safer products that don’t harm
your skin.
